Police were today searching for a 'pockmarked' attacker who dragged a woman from her car and raped in the car park of a John Lewis department store. The victim had been parked up in the far end of the car park outside the branch in Cheadle, Greater Manchester and was sat in the driver's seat, when the attacker open the door and pulled her into nearby bushes, where he raped her.
Officers believe the man, who was described as 'distinctive', with a deeply pockmarked face may have been waiting in a cut-through from a nearby road before pouncing on the woman on Friday evening, at around 7pm. The offender was said to be an Asian man aged around 40, of medium build, with black hair and thick black 'monobrow' eyebrows. He is also described as having distinctive heavily pockmarked, open-pored skin on his face, and at the time of the attack was wearing black jogging bottoms.
Following the attack, the woman went to the St Mary's Sexual Assault Referral Centre in Manchester and she reported her ordeal to police on Sunday. Detectives say the woman is being supported by specialist officers.
