Andreas Christopheros, 29, (pictured before the attack, left and right, and after, centre) suffered a permanent loss of vision and burns when David Phillips, 48, threw the acid in his face on the doorstep of his home in Truro, Cornwall (inset).
But police said he was not the intended victim and that Phillips, from Hastings, East Sussex, had launched an 'ill-prepared and ill executed' revenge attack on the wrong man. Mr Christopheros appeared in public today for the first time since the incident last December as Phillips admitted causing GBH with intent to cause harm.
He wore sunglasses and a face shield, but the extensive burns across his face were still visible as he left Truro Crown Court.
