Police arrested a woman in local restaurant (5 Boro Burger) on Avenue of the Americas and West 36th Street around 2:25pm on Monday after receiving a call about a woman who had locked herself in the restaurant's bathroom. When workers finally gained entry, they found Latisha Fisher, 35, holding her 2-year-old son Gavriel Ortiz who was unconscious and foaming from the mouth (mother and son pictured above). Little Gavriel was pronounced dead at the hospital while his mother was immediately taken into custody.
A law enforcement official described Fisher to our source the Daily News as 'soulless'. while her recent post on Facebook page appear to show her going through an emotional period. 'How did everything change on me. I went to sleep feeling well,' she wrote on March 27, one day after posting a thank you to 'everyone for supporting me'.
Blame it on the......Neighbors told our source the Daily News that she was 'violent' and that they could often smell marijuana coming from her unit. Some remembered an older child being taken away from her, and an incident in which she stabbed another family member.
