Nigeria rise to 41st spot in latest FIFA rankings

The Super Eagles are gone up by one place and now sit in 41st position in the FIFA rankings. Algeria are the highest-ranked African team (18th). Ivory Coast (20), Ghana (24), Tunisia (25) and Senegal (36). They make up the top five nations on the continent.

In the overall table, Germany remain the number one team in the world with 1770 points, ahead of Argentina (second), Colombia (third), Belgium (fourth), Netherlands (fifth), Brazil (sixth), Portugal (seventh), France (eighth), Uruguay (ninth) and Italy (10th). European champions, Spain have fallen out of the top 10, for the first time since 2007, with Italy taking their place.
